LIGHT & SPACE
3.12.21 – 04.09.22
Step into a world of light, colour, and gigantic installations in Light & Space, when CC for the first time in Europe brings together a rich array of art-world luminaries in an expansive 5,000 m2 exhibition on the American art movement known as Light and Space.
Ann Linn Palm Hansen f. 1984
Ann Linn Palm Hansen's two watercolor series consist of color studies based on the primary colors blue, red and yellow. In the individual works, Palm Hansen investigates how colors can be used to create three-dimensional spaces and objects through variation of color shades, strength and shapes. This is particularly evident in the large watercolours, where the basic shapes square, circle and triangle vibrate between appearing as two- and three-dimensional respectively through the use of the intensity of the colours.
Fibonacci I
Ann Linn Palm Hansen has created the sculptural object Fibonacci I (Magenta, Cyan, Yellow), 2021, which examines how colours are used to create three-dimensional spaces and objects. The object is made in painted paper shaped as a large spiral constructed in keeping with the principles of the golden spiral, which, according to the Fibonacci number system, is endlessly expandable. Similar spiral patterns are found in nature in sunflower heads and cauliflower bouquets.

ARITHMOS
4.12.21 – 26.02.22
Visual artist Ann Linn Palm Hansen has received international recognition for her geometric form and color studies, and her large artist's book with 127 color studies was called "One of the most beautiful books of the year" in the press. The artist's works examine the perception of the human eye.
The exhibition shows a series of test prints and original shape and color studies for the artist's book "(Shape. Color) Riso I". Each work is an investigation of the relationship between shapes and colors.

MUNKERUPHUS
FOR DET MESTE / MOST OF THE TIME
19.08.23– 22.10.23
MOST OF THE TIME is a comprehensive exhibition of works of art by Ann Linn Palm Hansen. The works, created over a number of years, show different sides of the artist's work in different materials and with different techniques.
Common to the works in the exhibition is Ann Linn Palm Hansen's intense preoccupation with the relationship between color and form. This is done in a systematic study based on a study of mathematical structures and color theory. She is inspired by Fibonacci as well as color theorists such as Goethe and Johannes Ittens and other Bauhaus teachers. But Ann Linn Palm Hansen has her own point of view, that she has arrived at by her own artistic exploration. An achievement that Munkeruphus' former resident, the hybrid artist Gunnar Aagaard Andersen (1919-1982), would have welcomed, both in scope and expression.
Characteristic of Ann Linn Palm Hansen's work is that her experiences from drawings and watercolors can be translated into other media and other materials, of which the exhibition provides new and original examples. The exhibition shows an artist who has worked for a long time with her forms of expression and has, so to speak, thought about it, but probably just as important for the viewer is the sensuous character of the results, the images becomes a way of seeing and thinking through form, color and materiality.
Some very basic experiences with the world and the view of the world are passed on - basically our location in the 'realm of perception'.
